William Shakespeare’s Tragedy of the Sith’s Revenge: Star Wars part the Third by Ian Doescher

William Shakespeare’s Tragedy of the Sith’s Revenge: Star Wars part the Third by Ian Doescher is my favourite of this Shakepearean Star Wars series so far.

Doescher really manages to capture the whole ‘tragedy’ aspect of this particular episode, adding theatrical pain and anguish through his prose. While there is the occasional ha! moment – especially via R2D2 paraphrasing that oh so famous lyric from Frozen (I still giggle to myself just thinking about it) – most of the book is really about the triumph of the dark side: the defeat of the Jedi, the death of Padme, and, of course, the rise of Darth Vader.

I can’t wait to read episodes 4, 5 and 6 next! And get my hands on episode 7, which I spied on the bookshelves not too long ago.
