Angels & Visitations: a Miscellany by Neil Gaiman

Out of all Neil Gaiman’s humble bundle collection I’ve read so far, Angels & Visitations: a Miscellany is definitely one of my favourites. I admit I didn’t enjoy the poetry so much, but the short stories were all amazing. I really enjoyed ‘Troll-Bridge’, ‘Webs’, ‘We Can Get Them for You Wholesale’ and the very film noir-esque ‘The Case of the Four and Twenty Blackbirds’. But the story within the story of ’Murder Mysteries’ was just so beautiful it felt as if my jaw dropped by the end of it.

So if you’re looking for a short Neil Gaiman compilation featuring his earlier writings to read to get a feel of this favourite author of mine, I definitely recommend this one. Glaze over the poems, but delve into his stories. They’re just magic.
