Me

this is where you’ll find out a little bit about me – the person, the reader, the traveller, the photography enthusiast and the closet artist wannabe, all wrapped up in a 5′1, short haired, bespectacled package.

i like petai, onion rings, pizza, risotto, rockband, melted swiss cheese in butternut pumpkin soup, paper, my saturday morning walks and jigsaw puzzles. i don’t drink coffee (except for sips of iced vietnamese milk coffee), smoke, consume alcohol and i definitely don’t like cucumbers. i can’t live without my ipod, my macbook pro, my 5d mk ii, and the several books lining my shelves. and i like my bed untouched before i get in and curl up for the night.

i’ve travelled a bit, but certainly not enough. and i would rather drive a small inexpensive car so i can spend all the money i make exploring our incredible planet. i’ve attempted to snowboard with little success, crawled through pitch-black caves, seen a flying fox glide through the forest and shopped with the best in new york. next year i want to conquer kinabalu and discover more of my homeland. i don’t like leeches at all.

i work in my own little company doing creative design studio stuff. 2009 is proving to be a really tough year, but i have to be persistent to make sure we survive through this.

i love taking photos, but i am not a pro photographer. i should probably take more, but i take so long to process them. i don’t know where all my time goes. my first digital camera is the 5d mk ii. i waited for my perfect camera to be made before i made the switch. i still have my film eos 3, my leica cm and a non-functional lomo lca. i think i need a point on shoot to take with me everywhere. i love the warmth and saturation of slide films, but it is getting ridiculously expensive and too time consuming to develop and process.

i love reading and listening to music. i can’t really say for sure who my favourite singers are, but i am currently loving falling slowly by glen hansard and my other favourite songs include foo fighter’s walking after you, pm dawn’s set adrift on memory bliss and standing outside a broken phone booth with money in my hand by the primitive radio gods. my theme song is green day’s good riddance (time of your life). saying that, i am a self-professed r&b hip hop chick. book-wise i have a list of few favourite books, stardust by neil gaiman topping the list. i do love his other works, including the sandman series. i also loved marisha pessl’s special topics in calamity physics, the bride stripped bare by anonymous, and books by chuck palahniuk, douglas adams, terry pratchett and david mitchell. my mass-litt comes in the form of dan brown and janet evanovich. i have around 40 books waiting to be read (i have to read them in the order of purchase, although special circumstances apply).

i like doing laundry, but i’m not big on ironing. i like my movies and the occasional tv series. i love my illustrated calendar, and the pinboard in my room is growing funkily. i live in my jeans and cool t-shirts. my favourite colour is moody blue. oh, and i also really really really really really like cool notebooks :)
